“Bilstein & Siekermann GmbH + Co. KG Premiere” at the 2017 Eifelsteiglauf 2017
On 24 September 2017, BSH’s colleagues met to travel together to Kerpen. Already equipped with team shirts from Bilstein & Siekermann®, we received the rest of our equipment, including the starting number, running cap or snood and a chip for accurate time recording.
In perfect running weather, dry but not too warm, approximately 300 runners were waiting for the starting signal at the quarry in Kerpen. From there, the courses (7.9 or 12 kilometres) headed toward Hillesheim through the beautiful Eifel countryside on to the finishing line in the Bolsdorfer valley.
There were drinks and encouragement from colleagues and spectators on the side of the road. Everyone from the BSH team passed the finishing line, and everyone could count themselves a winner.
The young BSH colleagues performed particularly well. In particular, Thomas Schreiner (machines), Tobias Fuchs (press) and Timo Reinarz (administration), who all finished in 41 minutes.
“Best BSH participant” was 11-year-old Michelle Grosmann, daughter of Dirk Grosmann from the internal logistics department, who ran the 7.9 km with her dad in a great time of 49 minutes.
Once all BSH runners had arrived at the finishing line, we stood together at the food and beverage stands and enjoyed the aftermath of this sporting event.
All in all, everyone who participated in the 2017 Eifelsteiglauf had lots of fun. The hours of practice before and during the run were good for our health and strengthened the team spirit.
After this experience, we are certain that there will by a team of at least the same size from Bilstein & Siekermann® at the starting blocks next year.
