In-house training is worthwhile – 3 newly trained specialists at Bilstein & Siekermann® since June 2018
At the end of the 2018 training year, 3 of our apprentices completed their respective training with outstanding success.
For the first time, one of them was a metalworking specialist, our colleague Daniel Rein. Daniel started his apprenticeship with us in August 2016. Since then, he has mainly worked in the small-scale turning shop, although during the course of the training, he spent time in other areas of the company such as the press section, quality management, test equipment management and despatch. He was also given insight into the engineering department. Colleagues from the toolmaking department prepared him for his practical and theoretical exams. He completed his training with an overall mark of “good”.
His colleagues and the management congratulated him on this success.
We are pleased that he has decided to stay with the company after his training. In July 2018 he started working as a specialist in the small-scale turning shop in the machining department.
Tobias Fuchs, first dual engineering student at Bilstein & Siekermann®, completed the first stage of his dual studies this summer: Completing the theoretical and practical exams in his punching and forming mechanic training programme takes him one step further to achieving his high professional goal.
In parallel with his training, since October 2016 he has also been attending the University of Trier to study mechanical engineering. He looks set to complete his degree on time when he completes his dissertation during the course of next year.
In the long term, he will be working in the engineering department, in the cold forming section. He will attend his first training courses in his new work area later this year.
We congratulate Tobias on passing his exams and wish him continued success in his studies.
Lena Hoffmann also completed her commercial apprenticeship in our company this year. During her apprenticeship, Lena was trained in sales, purchasing, quality assurance and work preparation. In June this year she also started working full-time in our work preparation department.
She has had a long-standing dream of visiting Australia for two months after she has successfully completed her apprenticeship. We were happy to give her leave and are delighted for her that she is able to take her trip to Australia in October and November 2018. Her colleagues in the department will cover for her during this time.
We would like to thank all three apprentices for their commitment to their training and look forward to working with them for the long term.
We are particularly proud that we have two trainees, Tobias Fuchs and Daniel Rein, to send as class-best students to the Trier Chamber of Industry and Commerce on 12 November 2018.
